A practical journey from problem to locally led action.
We help people move through three connected phases. Each phase creates useful outputs, makes assumptions visible and leaves room to learn and adapt.

Select a phase to explore it
DEFINE
Move from symptoms to a clear problem
Start with lived experience. Identify who is affected, what is happening, why it may be happening, what evidence exists and what remains uncertain. Frame an opportunity that people closest to the problem recognise as meaningful.
Typical outputs: a problem statement, affected people map, evidence notes, assumptions and an opportunity question.
Decision: do affected people agree that this is a problem worth working on, and is there a responsible way to proceed?
DEVELOP
Create and test promising responses
Generate several options before choosing. Agree selection criteria, identify users and assumptions, and design a prototype or pilot that can test the riskiest uncertainties with minimal burden.
Typical outputs: options and criteria, selected concept, user and assumption map, prototype, pilot outline and safeguards.
Decision: is there enough evidence of usefulness, feasibility and safety to test or improve this response?
ACHIEVE
Support action, evidence and adaptation
Clarify roles, partners, resources, delivery steps and referral routes. Help local champions act, gather proportionate evidence, reflect together and adapt. Share learning only with appropriate permission.
Typical outputs: action plan, champion playbook, partner map, delivery workflow, evidence plan and learning record.
Decision: continue, adapt, partner, pause or stop based on evidence and community judgement.

Walk the journey with Milo, our AI guide.
Milo is the studio's AI agent. In one guided conversation it walks you through the journey this page describes — from understanding a problem to a practical implementation plan — asking questions, offering options, and writing a full report at every stage. It is a thinking partner, not a decision-maker: people stay in charge of every choice.

Principles across every phase
Local knowledge is essential. AI can assist, but people decide. Collect only information needed for a clear purpose, with informed consent and protection. Champions need clear roles and fair compensation. Creative work needs consent, attribution, ownership and usage clarity. Do not scale without evidence of usefulness and safety.
How to begin
Bring a problem, an idea, a question or a partnership offer. You do not need a polished proposal. We will be clear about what we can and cannot support.
